I kept listening hoping some action would come up. I like my MC romance/action books with BOTH.

Throughout the book the male narrator would read one chapter then disappear for five UGH.

From chapter 1 to chapter ten was just her dreams, her worries of being worthy of him and of ways of enticing him. This one was mostly a young girls infatuation with her foster brother an MC member. This book should’ve been titled Lilas story Sorry, but this is a one-and-done for me.

I like a good MC novel/series, but this was just MEH! Pros: interesting backstories, Dane and Lila's familial story interconnected with Nova and the Booth family were intriguing, Aiden Snow's voice was a good narrator for Nova - when we got to hear it, HEA was good, the age difference wasn't too stark, glad I didn't invest in the whole series Cons: similar storylines to other MC novels I've read, Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was a new narrator to me and not a convincing young Lila, way too long of a novel with sooooo much push-pull angst between Lila and Nova, lots of internal dialogue from the characters, not enough of Aiden Snow's narration Spending credits on series such as these have to be weighed against how much one book can pull you in, coax a person into to giving it a chance and continue with the other books. I listened to this audiobook on 2.5 x speed and fast-forwarded throughout several sections that seemed to be repetitive. This is the first of this series I'd read and was glad that Giana decided to intersperse the characters and conflict from previous books in this series into this standalone. The female narrator was SO dang Hot!! I don't regret buying this one and I will read it again and again. Both narrators were fantastic and the story was perfect for me. I had hit a book slump and then I found Giana's books and I couldn't stop listening to Inked. She knew when to call him on his nonsense while also knowing when he needed her support. I also loved that Lila was not the usual pale beauty that is in a lot of these stories (which I don't mind, it was just different). Stopped and grieved for it ending and then restarted it at Ch. Honestly, I thought Priest would be my favorite bc I am that dark. I started with Zeus's story bc of Tik tok. I have only read it through audible, but it is easily my favorite book I have collected on my account.
